Why do you use vitamin A in skin care?

Vitamin A is an antioxidant that is converted in the skin to vitamin A acid, which helps with the best possible aging as well as the healing and reconstruction of the skin and its barrier function. It is a cell signaling substance (or cosmeceutical) that improves the skin's own function, exfoliates the skin together with fruit acid and lactic acid and removes blockages and rejected, dead skin cells.

Vitamin A counteracts wrinkles, acne and impure skin and helps for a nice scar formation after wounds etc. In addition, vitamin A works against oxidation and is thus a natural preservative.

If you have severe acne, you can get medicine with pure vitamin A acid. It is a treatment with major side effects, but which may be necessary in case of skin disease.

Vitamin A in certain forms (Retinol) can irritate the skin and will require getting used to. by Men's Room uses the mildest form of vitamin A in our products, as men's skin is more damaged and needs to be strengthened slowly without irritants, e.g. is vitamin A ester in skin care is a really good and safe ingredient.

Why is niacinamide, vitamin B3, used in skin care?

B vitamins, especially B3, contribute to the health of skin cells. Niacinamide is the skin's superhero, effective against rosacea, wrinkles, acne, scars, dry areas, itching, eczema and redness. It is the most important ingredient for pigment differences in the skin, as it works against acne and can reduce an overproduction of sebum, the skin's tallow.

Studies from the National Taiwan University showed that niacinamide B3, together with antioxidants, resulted in significantly smoother pigmentation, significant wrinkle reduction, smaller visible pores, less skin redness and increased moisture levels.

Why do you use vitamin C in skin care?

Vitamin C is another of the skin's heroes; an antioxidant that stimulates collagen synthesis and thus works against wrinkles and scarring. Why do you use vitamin E in skin care?

Vitamin E (tocopherol/tocopheryl) moisturizes the skin, increases healing, improves the effect of vitamins A and C and counteracts wrinkles, scarring and sun damage. It also acts as an antioxidant against free radicals and reduces the need to use large amounts
preservatives. In addition, vitamin E absorbs UV light and strengthens the skin's natural barrier.

Vitamin E is found in many foods, e.g. nuts and wheat germ, and this is essential if the skin is to function optimally.

Why do you use lactic acid, AHA and fruit acid in skin care?

Lactic acid is lactic acid and is one of the fruit acids that elevate your skin care to a professional level. In small amounts, fruit acid acts as a moisturizer, while at higher amounts and with a lower pH value, it acts as an exfoliator.

Lactic acid is a cell signaling substance (or cosmeceutical) that makes your own skin work better
and more evenly. It acts as a transport system for other ingredients in the skin care product, which thus penetrates the skin better. It is the only fruit acid that soothes and calms tissues, and it helps to increase one's tolerance to influences from within (hormones, stress, viruses) and from without (wind, weather, shaving, sunlight, weather changes, products).

Other fruit acids act as an irritant, but this unfortunately has side effects. Lactic acid is particularly suitable for men's skin care and acts as an intense moisture binder in the skin, so that you can subsequently use a lighter cream as protection. In this way, lactic acid is ideal for people who don't like feeling greasy on their skin and don't really like cream.

The lactic acid increases the skin's production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. It is skin care's best weapon (in synergy with selected antioxidants, including vitamins) against wrinkles, acne,
blackheads, dryness, itching, irritation, inflammation, overproduction of sebum, pigment spots and scars.

Lactic acid is skin-recognizable and is found in the body, and virtually all people from the onset of puberty until their last breath will benefit from lactic acid serum in their skin care. If it stings a little at first, after getting used to it, it will calm irritated skin (always follow the given instructions carefully).

Why do you use sea buckthorn in skin care?

Sea buckthorn, preferably organic, is a strong antioxidant that improves the skin's elasticity and works
restorative, anti-inflammatory and soothing. It is called a "superfruit" because of the high content of vitamins and nutrients, which are very well preserved in the oil when produced correctly. It is often used in products for healing, eczema, rosacea and wound healing.

Sea buckthorn is rich in essential fatty acids and contains a high concentration of omega-3, -6, -7 and -9 fatty acids. These nourish the skin, improve elasticity, strengthen the skin's barrier against external, harmful influences and are therefore an important anti-aging ingredient.

Green tea is full of vitamins, polyphenols and catechins, and these three components are particularly known for their anti-aging and antioxidant effects. They reduce oxidative stress and promote healthy and resilient skin.

Green tea soothes and calms irritated skin, and polyphenols soothe inflamed skin and are used extensively in products aimed at rosacea, wound and eczema care. In addition, green tea counteracts the negative effects of sunlight on the skin.

Why use chamomile extract in skin care?

Chamomile is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic and is able to neutralize the effects of irritants on the skin. Through its mild and effective healing properties, chamomile is particularly suitable for very dry, sensitive and sensitive skin, as the ingredients penetrate better into the skin, and is therefore often used in products for and after shaving, e.g. in aftershaves.

Dermatologists describe chamomile as having multiple benefits from wound healing to preventing premature aging, and studies even show that chamomile is better at preventing bacterial growth in healing wounds than tetracycline. Chamomile is therefore useful against acne, scarring, inflammation, redness, eczema, hyperpigmentation and free oxygen radical damage to the skin.

Name on ingredient list : Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract.

Why do you use cucumber extract in skin care?

Cucumber, preferably organic, has a surprising number of skin care benefits. In addition to moisturizing and cooling, cucumber also contains ascorbic acid (vitamin C), which is important for collagen formation
and pigmentation; silicon, which stimulates the formation of collagen; and elastin, which ensures the skin's elasticity. The content of antioxidants and minerals, as well as the ability to act mildly in skin care without irritating the skin, means that cucumber is widely used in skin care. Cucumber extract is also very good first aid for damaged, sunburned or freshly shaved skin.

Why are ceramides used in skin care?

50% of the skin barrier is made of ceramides: skin-identical fats and chains of lipids. Ceramides help the skin retain moisture and nourishment and protect against irritation. With a weakened skin barrier, your skin will become dry and irritated, which is why ceramides are a fairly important part of healthy skin and a strong skin barrier.

Ceramides occur naturally in many skin care products, and purely visually, the skin looks better when using ceramides, as it appears even, uniform, saturated with moisture and nutrients.

Ceramides NP is one of the best ceramides for the skin, and the only one we use in by Men's Room.

Name on ingredient list : Ceramide (preferably ceramide NP)

Product example : Defense Cream.
